I wasn't supposed to be here,
but I made my own way.

I didn’t come from the traditional legal pipeline. I didn’t walk the straight path from law school to a prestigious firm. I've built my career in places most lawyers never touch—broadcasting, digital strategy, public policy, and litigation. That’s how I learned how power really works.

I’ve seen how narratives shape decisions. I’ve worked where influence is built, where legal strategy intersects with policy, and where the right approach doesn’t just change cases—it changes lives and livelihoods.

But the biggest lesson I learned? Expertise alone isn’t enough.

The Moment That Changed Everything

At a critical moment in my career, a boss—struggling to manage their own shortcomings—tried to shift blame onto me. Mistaking my professionalism for passivity, they assumed I’d take the fall quietly.

They were wrong.

Some lessons can’t be taught in a classroom. Some things can’t be understood by people who’ve never had to earn their place, fight for recognition, or navigate a system designed to exclude them.

Here’s what the handed-everything crowd will never fully grasp:

✅  What it means to think three moves ahead, just to survive. When failure isn’t an option, you learn real strategy. When there’s no soft landing, every decision matters.

✅ What to do when you're out of second chances. The ability to adapt, pivot, and recalibrate under pressure is something you can only learn when the stakes are real.

✅ What it means to have to prove your credibility, instead of just showing up.

✅ Pressure isn’t theoretical—it’s personal. One mistake can be used as proof you never should’ve been there in the first place. I don’t have the luxury of second chances.

✅ Rejection isn’t an obstacle—it’s fuel.

I decided I wouldn’t let my career—or my clients’ futures—be dictated by someone else’s mistakes. I would build a career where strategy, precision, and results define my work.
